The stunning suburban region of Glen Waverley is a little further away from the nearby bay and coastline than many might like – but considering the reduction in property values extended as a result, is it any wonder why so many consider the region the ideal place for their new residence? There’s a population of 40,000 spread out over almost 2,500/km2 – and with a low crime rate, it could be considered quite a haven for families, retirees, or individuals looking for a tranquil way of life.

This might come as a surprise, but this suburb has recently seen an incredible increase in popularity from Chinese property buyers. The region is bordered by the Dandenong Creek on its East, as well as the famous Ferntree Fully Road just to the South; making it easy to get into the heart of Melbourne’s Business District.

What does the suburb have to offer to its residents?

Not only is Glen Waverley incredibly easy to get to – it’s also very simple to get around as well. With a range of bus and tram services, as well as a host of taxi and cab agencies; there really shouldn’t be any difficulty when it comes to travelling from one location to the next. You’ll even find a McDonalds restaurant (the first in the whole of Victoria) right on the corner of Springvale Road.

As far as education is concerned, this suburban region certainly doesn’t shy away from it. For higher education there is the Holmesglen Institute of TAFE, located on its own campus. There are three private schools, six primary schools (including the famous Camelot Rise Primary School) and three secondary schools including Glen Waverley Secondary College.

How much do the properties cost here?

Possibly one of the most appealing features of this suburb is the low price of its properties. How low you ask? Well, for an average home with all modern features and facilities, you’re looking to spend as little as $1,110,000 AUD (which might still be a lot; but it’s much less than other suburbs nearby). And for those of you with a nicer house and a better street on your agenda? You’re still only looking to spent just over $1.3 million AUD.
